Swansea Institute will become the UK’s newest university if it’s granted permission by the Privy Council to change its name. The 150 year old establishment will become the Swansea Metropolitian University. A new generation of super clean high efficiency diesel engines and electric four-wheel-drive technology will be unveiled by Mitsubishi at the Frankfurt motor show in September. Mitsubishi Concept-cX car shows the direction the Japanese company is likely to take with a production version of the model slated for 2009. It uses the most advanced turbo-charging system combined and diesel particulate filters to thoroughly burn fuel with minimum pollution and the automated manual transmission feeds power to all wheels through an advanced powertrain which uses electric motors. The Concept-cX, which stands for Compact Crossover, is a sports utility soft-roader. More details will be announced at the show.
