Van customers don’t come much cooler than ice cream wholesaler and retailer Signor Rossi, which has just bought a trio of Mercedes-Benz Sprinters from South Wales dealer Euro Commercials.

Two 2.6-tonne Sprinter 211CDIs and a 5.0-tonne Sprinter 511CDI, have joined an all-Mercedes fleet working from depots in Cardiff, Newport, Pontypool, Cwmbran and Bridgend.

The two lighter vehicles are for ice cream sales only but the extra payload of the 5.0-tonner allows it to be used to offer a much more comprehensive retail service.

Euro Commercials cool order from Rossi

“The bigger Sprinter carries a wide range of every day groceries, from washing powder to stuffing mix,” says Director Jeremy Rossi.

“It works primarily on large housing estates and is very popular with residents who might find it difficult to get to a supermarket for their weekly shopping.”

He added, “We’ve stuck with Mercedes because the quality of the vehicles and of the back-up service is so good. The Sprinters are an ideal platform for the body conversion and all of the extra equipment that we have fitted, as well as being extremely reliable and able to stand up to heavy use with no trouble.

“We’re also well looked after by the team at Euro Commercials, whose Cardiff dealership is just a few yards from our own headquarters.”
