The Golf TDI Hybrid concept combines a 1.2-litre 75 hp diesel engine with an electric motor and seven-speed DSG gearbox. It is capable of achieving 83 mpg on the combined cycle and emits 89 g/km of CO2 – while around town the vehicle reverts to purely electric mode. VW has not confirmed when or whether this car will be launched commercially.
The Passat Estate TSI EcoFuel features a 150 PS TSI engine which has been specifically designed to run on natural gas, and consumes 5.2 kg of gas per 100 kilometres.
