The idea for the Spring Ball came from Pam Latham-Anders, who set up the P.A.L Appeal in 2007 to raise funds for cancer research after being diagnosed with the disease. Sadly, Pam died last year, but it was her express wish that the charity ball which she had started to plan still go ahead.
Along with a sparkling champagne reception followed by a three-course meal and entertainment, the glamorous ball will auction off a number of luxury prizes including sporting memorabilia as well as announce the lucky winner of a brand new Renault Twingo Extreme, which is being supplied by Renault Cardiff.
In fact, this isn’t the first time the dealership, located on Penarth Road, has been quick to help out local good causes as it supplied a Clio Campus in a charity prize draw for Ty Hafan, the charity which funds the children’s hospice for Wales, and later this year eight of its staff will be competing in the Cardiff Half Marathon with all proceeds going to the Velindre Cancer Centre.
Darren Bowen, Sales Manager at Renault Cardiff who will be presenting the Twingo Extreme to the lucky winner on the night, said, “The Velindre Cancer Centre is a really worthy cause to be supporting and Renault Cardiff is proud to be associated with something that will help many people in the local community.”
He added, “The Twingo Extreme is a very desirable car due to its sporty and stylish looks and safety and technological innovations so will help raise lots of money for the charity.”
The Spring Ball takes place on Saturday, 31 May at the Heronston Hotel in Bridgend. To book tickets or for further information on the P.A.L Appeal contact 01656 659033.
