Wales road safety drive moves North
Road users across North Wales are being urged to put forward their ideas for driver training and assessment to reduce accidents. Formula one motor racing star David Coulthard is backing the government's campaign and consultation to overhaul driver testing and training and make Britain's roads safer. He wants road users to speak to the DSA during a four-month nationwide consultation tour in a bid to collect public thoughts on safer driving. Llandudno hosts the North Wales regional event, the second of 13 free events across England, Scotland and Wales. A three-hour forum takes place at 6pm, at the St George's Hotel, The Promenade, on 16 June, and tea and coffee will be provided. Views and ideas will be gathered and fed directly back to policy makers. Latest figures show that in 2006, 270 people were killed or seriously injured on roads in North Wales. |
