They're off
The hillside motocross track above Whitland was the place to be for motorsport lovers of the two, three and four wheeled variety when the Dyfed Dirt Bike Club hosted a round of the British Sidecar Cross Championship last Sunday.

With the race practice starting at 9.30 am, the days racing at 10.30 and running well into the late afternoon, spectators were treated to some top class action throughout the day.

The sidecar class alone had over 33 outfits on the start line and it was a spectacular site to see them in West Wales (right).

The popular venue also hosted races for the two wheeled machines varying from 65cc autos to big 500cc four stroke bikes and a big turnout of quads (right) which made up the rest of the days racing.

Upholding the honours for the DDBR in the sidecar class were Aled and Iwan Evans from Lampeter (below) riding the Kangaloos backed KTM.

The duo were in the thick of the action amongst some crews that were competing on a World sidecar round the previous week but for Aled and Iwan it was some good motocross practise for the Welsh 2 Day Enduro which takes place next week at Llandrindod Wells.

Many crews loved the fast and sweeping hillside circuit and said they would love to come back if the Tavernspite venue was used as a championship round again.
