Customers at local Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge dealer Stratstone (Cardiff) could slash their fuel bills by as much as £50 a week up until the end of the year.
The offer is open to motorists that buy a new Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge vehicle from the Cardiff showroom before the end of September 2008. Robin Carr, Dealer Principal at Stratstone Cardiff, said, “To take full advantage of this offer, it makes sense to buy a new Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge as soon as possible – the more weeks left after purchase means more weeks of free fuel.”

Iveco has announced a new £1M plan to raise standards at its authorised service locations.
The manufacturer create a Five-Star Customer Programme, which will offer bonuses to those service points that meet specific performance targets.
Nigel Emms, brand and communications director, says, "There have been issues to address across the network, with standards of service not as equal as we'd like.
“The new programme aims to bring every dealer up to scratch, so the service you get in Scotland is the same you get in the South-West."

The future of Ford’s last British vehicle assembly plant, the Transit van factory in Southampton, is under threat as it faces competition to build new models from plants in Turkey and Romania, according to UK media reports.

The Southampton plant opened in 1972 and employs 1,100 people making 80,000 vehicles a year. Ford recently began an internal competition between its European plants to build the new Transit, which will begin production in 2010. The bids will undergo a round of assessment next month.

BMW AG may build future Mini and 1 Series cars on the same platform as a cost-cutting move, reportsAutoBeat Europe.
The newspaper cites unnamed company sources who say BMW may pursue that option if its talks with Fiat SpA about developing a joint small-car platform don’t succeed. BMW has already halted development on the X7, a new luxury SUV, and is scaling back aggressive price discounting in the U.S. It also plans to reduce production to match lower sales.

Road safety campaigners have called for speed cameras to be banned after police slashed road deaths by 40pc without them.

Only two forces in Britain refuse to operate fixed speed cameras - Durham and North Yorkshire - and both have recorded significant reductions in road deaths. Durham Police has cut its road death toll from 44 in 1998 to 26 last year, a fall of more than 40pc. Meanwhile, road deaths in North Yorkshire have dropped by 15pc. Although, the death toll nationally has dropped from 3,421 to 1998 to 3,172 in 2006, a drop of 7pc, it is far below the levels achieved in Durham and North Yorkshire.
