Toyota has developed the world’s first Supplemental Restraint System rear window curtain shield airbag to protect rear passengers’ heads in the event of a rear-end collision.

The innovative airbag deploys from the roof lining above the rear window in the form of a curtain-like barrier. Its use in the soon-to-be launched "iQ" ultra-compact four-seater is expected to approximately double the car’s rear passenger head protection performance.

Renault Kangoo be bop is the latest addition to the  family.

Its compact size (3.87m in length), extensive glazed area and four roomy seats afford a sense of space and light.

Ideal for escaping the crowd, Kangoo be bop offers open-top motoring at the rear thanks to its glazed sliding roof and rear tailgate window which slides down out of sight.

There are two tilting glass panels at the front, plus a fixed central glass panel.

It goes on sale in Britain next year.
