Stop and start fuel saving technology has been added to the Freelander 2 TD4. It makes the model Land Rover's most fuel-efficient vehicle to date. On the standard EU4 cycle, the CO2 emissions of the Freelander 2 TD4_e are reduced by 8 pc, compared with the outgoing manual diesel Freelander 2. The 8 pc improvement equates to a CO2 emissions reduction of 15 g/km compared with the standard Freelander 2 TD4 manual and consumption improves from 37.7 mpg to 41.3 mpg. |  | | | Volkswagen has announced a new entry-level specification and two additional engines for the Scirocco coupé. Prices for the entry-level model, fitted with a 1.4-litre TSI 160 PS engine, start at £18,790 RRP on the road. At launch in September, the Scirocco was only available in range-topping GT trim. In addition, the new entry-level and GT models are now available with Volkswagen's popular 2.0-litre TDI 140 PS common rail diesel engine linked to either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic DSG gearbox.

It will come in three trim levels, S, Sport and GT and takes power from the 2.0 136 and 140 bhp Euro V HDi diesel and turbocharged 1.6 petrol engines developing 140 or 150bhp. It is the first Coupe Cabriolet in the world to have all the occupant lateral protection incorporated into the front seat and its safety credentials begin with standard ESP across the range.
