The Monsters of Motor Sport make a welcome return to Wales this weekend, 11/12 Oct, as the Delphi British Truck Racing Championship pays its second visit of the season to Pembrey Circuit.

The trucks on the track may resemble their cousins that we see travelling our motorways but they are in fact purpose built race machines. Despite weighing in excess of 6 tons each, their 12 litre turbocharged diesel engines produce over 1000 horsepower allowing them to accelerate from zero to 100mph faster than a Porsche 911 sports car.
Pembrey is among the most popular venues in Britain for truck racing and the demanding 1.5 mile circuit always produce some close fought action with plenty of thrills along with the occasional spill.

Five times British truck racing champion Stuart Oliver once again leads this year's series but he can expect some stiff opposition from his nearest rival Dave Jenkins racing on what is effectively his home circuit.
Supporting the mighty mammoths will be the BARC pick up truck series and what they lack in stature they more than make up for in competitive race action, making the series a popular visitor among the spectators at Pembrey.
So too is the Legends Cars Championship. These 5/8 scale replicas of 1930's American coupes are powered by 1250cc Yamaha motorbike engines and a full pack of Legends battling their way around the Pembrey Circuit are guaranteed to get the adrenalin pumping.

The final round of the BARC/Dunlop Clubmans Cup should provide the fastest race action of the day while the inaugural Tiger Sportscar Series is already establishing itself as a close fought category.
Also reaching its climax this weekend is the Welsh Sports and Saloon Car Championship. The series is currently led by local driver Rhys Lloyd in his Seat Leon, but with overall and class honours still up for grabs there is plenty to play for with the drivers.
