Welshman Alex shows he is a class act with future potential

 | | | Valley racer Alex Jones ended his British Formula Ford Championship season on a high note at Donington Park at the weekend. |  | The 20-year-old was at the wheel of his Kevin Mills Racing-prepared Spectrum for the final meeting of the season, contesting the Scholarship Class of the series for year-old chassis and younger drivers. Jones came away from Donington with a class victory and a second-in-class finish to secure third place overall in the championship. Jones (above & right) was particularly pleased with his performance in Sunday morning's race, in which not only was he the leading Scholarship finisher but also eighth overall. "It's the first time I've made the top 10 overall," said Alex, "and I'm really pleased." |

Ulster 17-year-old Wayne Boyd clinched the overall British Formula Ford Championship title at Donington, though he failed to add to his tally of 13 race wins. Boyd was beaten back to third place in Saturday's race by Brazilian Victor Correa and Glasgow's David Brown, and placed second behind Brown in both of the Sunday races. Boyd's title win was the fourth in a row for the Jamun Racing team and the French Mygale chassis.
