Welsh plant's role in secret new Ford B-car
publication date: Nov 18, 2008
 | | | A new model is being planned by Ford which will be powered by the latest engines to be assembled in the Bridgend Engine Plant.
Ford is planning to replace its slow-selling Fusion with the Fiesta-based B-MAX in the increasingly popular supermini-MPV class, reports Auto Express. It will slot in below the Focus-based C-MAX and go into production at Ford's Romanian in 2010. The magazine says the B-MAX will be powered by an engine from the new range of small-capacity, direct-injection, turbo petrol engines which range from 1 to 1.6 litres and go into production at Bridgend towards the end of 2009. Last month, Ford announced a £70m investment in Bridgend to build the new generation of engines for 2010 production models. It is the only plant in the world making the new range of high efficiency, low pollution engines. |
