Cardiff City Centre will host a spectacular ‘free view' sports extravaganza on Thursday 4 December, when celebrity guests join world champions at the official start of the 2008 Wales Rally GB.
Located on King Edward VIII Avenue, the all-free rally entertainment begins at 4.30pm when the world's top rally drivers - including five-times World Champion Sébastien Loeb, four-times Wales Rally GB winner Petter Solberg and defending Wales Rally GB champion Mikko Hirvonen - will meet fans and sign autographs until 5pm. Fans will also be able to meet Olympic gold medal winner Geraint Thomas, the Cardiff-born cyclist who broke the world record in the Team Pursuit Final at Beijing and he'll be signing autographs with the WRC drivers and will cycle over the start ramp before the first WRC car.


A £65m fund to boost skills was unveiled yesterday.

Semta, the employer-led sector skills council for science, engineering and manufacturing technologies, has launched the UK Metals, Mechanicals and Electrical Sector Skills Agreement (MME SSA), which will strengthen business through workforce development.


Jaguar's Design Director, Ian Callum has won 'The Walpole Award for British Luxury Design Talent' at the Walpole Awards 2008.

To help keep Volvo servicing as environmentally friendly as possible, the Swedish vehicle manufacturer has introduced its Greenline range of renewed vehicle components which are procured by recycling components from scrapped Volvos.
This latest green initiative reinforces Volvo's Exchange parts system, where used components such as engines, gearboxes and axles are collected from dealers and remanufactured to the same exacting standards as those leaving the production line.
