Mazda will showcase the all-new Mazda3 5-door hatchback at the Bologna Motor Show on 3 December 3, 2008.
The second generation Mazda3 5-door hatchback follows on the heels of the 4-door sedan version, currently on display at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
The new engine lineup has been tailored for European customers and now includes the newly developed 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine, in addition to the existing 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre gasoline engines and the 1.6-litre turbo diesel.

The Toyota iQ will be in UK showrooms early next year.
At launch, UK versions of iQ will be available with a 1.0-litre VVT-i petrol engine that with manual transmission produces 99g/km of CO2, the first time a four-seat petrol car has broken the 100g/km mark. A semi-automatic multi-drive box will be available as well.
In summer 2009 this will be joined by a new 1.33-litre petrol engine with stop and start technology.
It has electric steering, front struts and rear torsion beam suspension.
There will be two trim levels and prices start from £9,495 rising to £11,495.
