The
Ghost will again materialise on a Rolls-Royce.
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars CEO
Tom Purves says they will use the famous name, which appeared between 1906 and 1925,
on the new baby car which has been called 200EX and RR4 since March.
Speaking at the Shanghai
motor show, he said, "It is one of the most revered names in the automotive
industry, evoking images of adventure and technical innovation."
An all-new Jaguar XJ will make its public debut in July.
Speaking at Auto Shanghai
2009, Jaguar Cars Managing Director, Mike O'Driscoll said the all-new XJ will go
on sale at the end of 2009 - but will officially be revealed on 9 July in
London. The all-new XJ is the
first car to feature the next-generation of Jaguar's aerospace-inspired
aluminium body architecture. All of Jaguar's new
ultra-efficient Gen III petrol and diesel engines will be available in the new
XJ, including the already acclaimed V6 diesel and 510 bhp supercharged V8. There
will be a choice of standard or long wheelbase models.
SEAT is
releasing first details of the forthcoming new Leon Cupra and Ibiza FR, two hot
hatches that further strengthen the 'sporty' gene which lies at the very core
of the dynamic Spanish brand.
Both cars
are set to make their world debuts at the Barcelona Motor Show (9 to 17 May),
with UK sales commencing around July for the Leon Cupra and September for the
Ibiza FR (right). Prices will be announced closer to their respective on-sale dates.
Designed, engineered and built in
Britain, Nissan's Qashqai and the more recently introduced seven-seat Qashqai+2
offer no-compromise solutions to the varied demands of family motoring.
Combining
compact SUV-like presence with MPV practicality, yet enjoying driving dynamics
that are a match for the best family hatchback alternatives, the Qashqai badge
continues to bring numerous new buyers into Nissan showrooms. And
soon, offering customers yet more style and added value, the
Sunderland-produced award winning model will be available in a new
feature-packed n-tec trim level while the flagship Tekna sees a major
specification makeover.
Now even
better value for money, SsangYong Kyron, Rexton and Rodius models from South
Korea now come with a five year or 250,000 mile warranty, whichever comes
first.
The five year or quarter of a million mile warranty
is not simply a marketing initiative, but a permanent enhancement to SsangYong
ownership. Having tested public opinion in Northern Ireland with a similar
warranty provided by Northern Irish dealers over the past year, the move
clearly demonstrates confidence in SsangYong's build quality and reliability
and will appeal to pragmatic buyers looking for rugged ability coupled with
value for money.
"The move has the full support of the SsangYong
factory," says Koelliker UK managing director Paul Williams. "We were pleased
with the reaction of customers in Northern Ireland and with over 50 years'
experience of making tough, practical vehicles, we know that SsangYongs are
well made and solidly reliable and this will reinforce that message and give
buyers great confidence.
Right now, a five year warranty isn't the only
reason to consider a SsangYong. Until the end of June, retail customers can
also enjoy five years/50,000 miles of free servicing, focusing still further on
SsangYong's reliability and low costs of ownership.
The MG6 hatchback will be the first
all-new MG model to go on sale in the UK since the 2001 MG ZS and ZT, according
to sources at Chinese car maker SAIC who were showing the model at the Chinese
motor show this week.
Hatchback
MG6 and saloons will be launched in the UK and Ireland, according to Eleanor de
la Haye of the MG Motor Company.
Both
versions will use the MG badge and the most popular engine is expected to be
the N-series 1.8-litre turbocharged engine, an updated version of Rover's
K-series engine.
The
cars are expected in the showrooms by early 2010.
