Ford gained significant market share in the US in June, benefiting from new models and the financial woes of its two Detroit-based rivals, General Motors and Chrysler.
Ford's sales fell by 11 per cent from a year earlier, the smallest drop in 16 months. By contrast, GM was down by 34 per cent, Chrysler by 42 per cent and Toyota by 32 per cent.

 

British Car Auctions has published details of the most popular used car colours sold in the first three months of2009.
With data covering 125,000 vehicles, Silver took the number one position at nearly 25pc, posting a 1.5-point increase since last year. Blue was toppled from the top spot, falling by two points to 21.4pc. Black gained the biggest increase in share, moving from fourth to third place and from 12.5pc to nearly 18pc of the total.
