The new Škoda Yeti is on sale today at Škoda retailers across the UK.
Starting at just £13,725, Yeti is the newest addition to the growing range of Škoda vehicles. Combining
all the rugged strengths of a traditional 4x4 with the practicality and
running costs of a hatchback, Yeti is a true crossover vehicle. It is
available in front-wheel or four-wheel drive, in a choice of five
diesel or petrol engines and four trim levels. Equipment levels are
high across the range with electric front windows and CD player, air
conditioning, six airbags and Škoda’s hugely practical Varioflex
seating standard on all models. Yeti also features a number of
exciting technologies designed to make life on board Yeti even more
rewarding. These include park assist, an electrically opening panoramic
sunroof, an off-road button and touch screen displays that incorporate
Bluetooth, all available as options. The four-wheel drive versions
are underpinned by fourth-generation Haldex clutch that directs torque
to the wheels that need it most, ensuring grip in even the poorest
conditions. Yeti received five stars in recent EuroNCAP testing, with its result hailed as one of the best vehicles tested so far.
Well ahead of the official UK launch in Spring 2010,

year by logging on to www.ds3.citroen.com/uk. Making up the 100
exclusive DS3’s are 20 pre-specified variants, with prices ranging from

The new Focus ECOnetic five-door is available with a new optional Ford Auto-Start-Stop system. Regardless
of whether Auto-Start-Stop is specified, the Focus ECOnetic has Smart
Regenerative Charging and Low Tension Front End Accessory Drive –
technologies that are new to the Ford of Europe product line-up, and
which combine to deliver lower emissions and better fuel efficiency and
pave the way for future powertrains from the blue oval. Power
comes from Ford's 109PS (80kW) 1.6-litre Duratorq TDCi engine with
standard coated Diesel Particulate Filter (cDPF). Target average CO2
emissions for the Auto-Start-Stop equipped car are as low as 99g/km,
with a combined fuel economy of 74.2mpg and 104g/km for the standard
Focus ECOnetic. Ford will also trial the battery powered Focus BEV in Scotland (above).
smart
is adding a huge splash of colour and personalisation to the ownership
of its fortwo models with the launch of a new product design service in
conjunction with performance and styling specialists BRABUS. The
smart BRABUS tailor made concept which is being officially launched at
this week’s Frankfurt Motor Show, will enable owners to design their
own smart car from an array of special colours and bespoke interiors
that will create thousands of combinations to choose from. As part
of the service, customers will be able to specify their car’s body
panels and tridion safety cell from a palette of 18 vivid colours –
each with a supercar/heritage theme. These include the vibrant
Campbell Blue, which pays homage to the iconic Bluebird land speed
record cars built and tested at Brooklands, the home of Mercedes-Benz
World. Interior detailing on items such as the door handles,
instrument cluster, dials and light/wiper lever will also reflect the
exterior colour chosen. There will be six tri-top roof colours to
select from too, as well as nine leather/Alcantara upholsteries, which
will feature in the seats and other areas including door panels, upper
dash and in the floor mat edging.
The Lexus LS 600h full hybrid flagship gains a range of technological and styling improvements for the 2010 model year. With
redesigned seating, updated equipment, a new ECO driving mode and new
brakes, the LS 600h and the long wheelbase LS 600h L achieve advances
in comfort and driving dynamics. The full hybrid Lexus Hybrid Drive
system that powers the LS 600h has a new ECO mode, which modifies the
throttle action and performance of the air conditioning system to
support fuel-efficient driving. Repackaging of the full hybrid system’s
battery into two sections of six and 14 modules has reduced its overall
size and freed up more luggage space in the boot. Further
development of the Lexus Hybrid Drive system has been revised to meet
Euro V exhaust emissions standards, but with no change to the car’s
performance: the combination of the 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine and
165kW electric motor produces a maximum 439bhp and 520Nm of torque,
giving nought to 62mph acceleration in 6.3 seconds. CO2 emissions are
219g/km and combined cycle fuel economy remains 30.4mpg
