If you are a Classic Car enthusiast then this weekend all roads leads to Birmingham ’s NEC and the 2009 Classic Motor Show. More than 1400 of Britain ’s finest classic cars and bikes are scheduled to be on display with over 200 enthusiasts’ clubs represented. If merely looking is not enough for you then you can even pay to take a 10 mile passenger ride in one of your dream classics with all the funds raised going to the children’s charities courtesy of the Sporting Bears Motor Club. Featured on the Ferrari Owners’ Club stand will be the ex-Steve McQueen Lusso plus a 250 Europa. But when it comes to exoticars they will be closely rivalled by displays of Maseratis, Bugattis, Porsches and Rolls Royces while the classic bike hall will host the Ace Café Concours d’Elegance for the finest two wheeled machinery. Alongside the static displays, the live stage will be hosted by TV presenters Mike Brewer and Edd China , from the Discovery Channel’s Wheeler Dealer programme, who will be joined by a variety of special guests from the classic motoring and motorsport world. You can even get involved yourself by taking part in the event’s own game show, the Price Right Challenge. There will be enough trade stands selling parts, books and other memorabilia to keep even the most hardened petrolhead happy and if you are looking for an elusive spare for you own cherished motor then the auto or bike jumble might have just what you need. |
