There will be a huge increase in the number of diesel vehicles left stranded this month as temperatures drop to sub-zero according to mail order specialists, Car Parts Direct.

Diesel vehicles with defective Glow plugs normally start perfectly well in moderate temperatures. When the first frosts arrive diesel owners can be left stranded. Replacing your own Glow plugs early can prevent you killing your battery, starter motor and wasting expensive fuel – as well as the trouble of breakdown and the expense of a major Garage repair.
According to the technical experts at Car Parts direct knowing how to test and replace Glow Plugs yourself is quite simple. Car Parts Direct have produced a short online video to explain how to test and replace your own glow plugs. The company claims it's a simple job that can save a small fortune compared to having a garage replace them.
The common symptoms of faulty glow plugs is the engine turns over but fails to start. Glow plugs warm the cylinders before you turn the key to start your engine.
