 | Aston Martin revealed the first official images of the ‘Cygnet' - a new luxury commuter concept car.
The Cygnet concept represents a creative, environmentally conscious
solution, being small, yet with presence - and highly fuel efficient,
now combined with the prestige of Aston Martin's luxury brand ownership.
Work on the concept is ongoing and will continue into 2010 when it is
hoped that it will become a production reality initially available to
Aston Martin customers in the UK and Europe. | | | The Freelander 2 Sport goes on sale in the UK in January.
In showrooms early next year, the Freelander 2 Sport will be available
with two derivatives and two colours - Santorini Black and Lago Grey.
Both will feature exclusive 19" limited edition diamond-turned
alloy-wheels, a unique two-tone interior together with a rear spoiler,
colour-keyed exterior trim and matching door handles and mirror
casings.
There is a standard model available in both Black and Lago Grey with
cloth interior and one with a sports styling pack available only in
Lago Grey.
A unique two-tone interior is introduced on both derivatives, in
contrasting Ebony and Storm. The derivative featuring the sports
styling pack will offer a leather interior and the standard version
with a cloth/leather interior. The sporty theme continues through the
cabin, with an Ebony-coloured centre-console and lower fascia
complemented with two-tone door casings.
The Sport emblem is embossed on the front and outer rear seat head
restraints, with Storm coloured stitching on all seats and unique Ebony
interior carpet mats with contrast piping feature throughout.
The Freelander 2 Sport is available with the powerful and economical
2.2-litre TD4 diesel power unit. The manual diesel comes with
Stop/Start technology delivering an 8pc improvement on CO2 emissions
compared to the previous manual diesel Freelander 2 (from 194g/km to
179g/km) and fuel consumption is reduced (from 37.7 to 42.2mpg - an
improvement of 4.5mpg).
John Edwards, managing director, Land Rover UK said: "With its dynamic
styling, the Freelander 2 Sport allows you to combine sporting
characteristics with all the sustainability and driveability benefits
of the intelligent Stop/Start technology."
The Freelander 2 Sport is from £26,695 on-the-road. | | | Ahead of the launch in spring 2010, Citroën has
released prices and specification details for its most hotly
anticipated model to date - DS3.
Citroën has also unveiled an online configurator that allows members of the public to create their perfect DS3.
DS3 is an assertive, urban 3-door supermini with radical styling,
elegant detailing and an extensive choice of customisable design
options for a bespoke driving experience. DS3 is the first model from
Citroën’s new DS line, which will consist of three distinctively
styled, attention grabbing cars - DS3, DS4 and DS5 - that highlight the
very best of Citroën’s ‘Créative Technologie’.
DS3 will be offered in three new Citroën trim levels - DSign, DStyle
and DSport - with a choice of three petrol and two HDi diesels ranging
from 90hp to 150hp. All three DS3 petrol engines were co-developed with
BMW.
An environmentally considerate 99g/km 1.6HDi 16V 90hp will also be available - delivering up to 74.3mpg.
The DS3 range starts with the petrol 1.4 16V VTi 95hp in DSign trim, which is priced from just £11,700.
The price of a fully specified, fully personalised, range-topping
DSport model, powered by the punchy 1.6 THP 150hp petrol engine, is
£18,775.
Due to great customer interest in the model, Citroën has taken the
exceptional step of launching an online DS3 configurator -
significantly in advance of the car’s on-sale date - so future owners
can create their perfect DS3, based on their own performance and style
preferences.
Customers start using the configurator by selecting the engine and trim
level for their DS3. Then, depending on these initial choices, they can
specify body colour, roof colour and roof graphics, as well as a host
of other features like chrome door mirrors, chrome rubbing strips, up
to 17” alloy wheels in different styles and colours, front LEDs,
upholstery material and colour scheme, and even one of six colours for
the dashboard and gear knob.
There are also equipment packs to choose from, which include features
like automatic headlamps, rear parking sensors, MyWay satellite
navigation, Bluetooth with USB socket, and a front central armrest.
The choice is comprehensive and unprecedented for a new car by a mainstream manufacturer.
As an example of the extensive personalisation DS3 offers and the
resulting prices, a mid-range 1.6 16V VTi 120hp model in DStyle trim,
specified with a metallic body colour, contrasting roof, chrome door
mirrors, chrome rubbing strips, 16” white diamond-tipped alloy wheels,
LED diodes, mistral and cloth interior, a shiny black dashboard and the
Connecting Box with HiFi system has an OTR price of £14,650 - just £950
more than an un-personalised model with the same engine and trim. | | | Prices for the new Škoda Superb Estate have been announced.
Prices start at just £17,715 OTR for the Superb Estate S with the 1.4
TSI 125bhp engine. With class-leading legroom and boot space, a long
list of standard equipment and Škoda's legendary great value, the
Superb Estate sets a new standard for estate motoring.
The Superb Estate will be available in three trim levels, S, SE and
Elegance. A choice of six engines will be offered, three petrol and
three diesel, ranging from the entry-level 1.4 TSI 125bhp to the
range-topping 3.6 V6 260bhp DSG 4x4.
The estate will carry a premium over the hatch of £1,050 for the S trim and £1,200 for SE and Elegance models. | |
| Proton Cars has unveiled its latest offering to customers, offering 3 years free servicing on all new Savvys.
Priced from £5,995 with the £2,000 scrappage incentive, the Savvy comes
with a 1.2 litre engine low front skirt and 15" alloys, remote central
locking, parking sensors and an alarm/immobiliser.
Customers can also take advantage of other various low rate finance options, available for up to five years. |
