Driving school fleets that use Toyota iQ cars can no longer use them for driving tests.

Late last year the Driving Standards Authority assessed the car and said all round visibility was too poor for the car to be used. It was hoped that the DSA would reassess the car, but a spokesman has told Fleet News that this will not happen.
"At a constructive meeting with Toyota UK we demonstrated the problems with limited visibility from the passenger seat," said the spokesman. "The Toyota iQ remains unsuitable for test and we have no plans to reassess it after banning it from driving tests."
Toyota said yesterday that the DSA has agreed to re-assess the Toyota iQ's suitability for use in UK driving tests and is waiting to hear from them.
In the meantime the iQ has proved its safefy credentials having achieved the top 5 star Euro NACP rating for crash testing, has nine airbags (including the world's-first rear window curtain shield airbag) along with ABS and Electronic Brake Force Distributon, (EBD) Brake Assist
(BA) and Traction Control (TRC) and Steering Assist Vehicle Stability Control (VSC+) standard on every model.
