Hyundai will build on its industry-leading scrappage
success with ground-breaking schemes which will help even more
customers afford a new Hyundai. These include Trade &
Upgrade, which allows buyers the same £2,000 part exchange allowance as
scrappage customers even after the government scheme ends, and Happy
Returns, which offers Hyundai’s existing scrappage customers the chance
to swap to a new ‘10’ registration in March for as little as £499. | |
“We have learnt some valuable lessons from the 33,000
people who have bought cars from us under the scrappage scheme” said
Tony Whitehorn, Hyundai’s managing director in the UK. “They love
transparent pricing. They hate haggling. And if they see a good deal
they will snap it up. What we are offering post scrappage will build on
this experience and will change the way cars are bought in the UK for
ever.” Trade & Upgrade will offer the 6.4 million owners of
seven to 10 year old cars in Britain the same £2,000 allowance offered
to scrappage customers. Happy Returns will allow those who were
savvy enough to buy a Hyundai using scrappage another chance to pick up
an unbeatable deal and own another new Hyundai. Owners who bought a new
i10, i20 and i30 last year will be invited to swap it for a brand new
Hyundai wearing the new ‘10’ registration.
The swap can be made any time up until the car’s first anniversary,
saving the customer the cost of the first service and tax disc renewal.
The new car will of course also have a new five year warranty. The
customer’s contribution to the deal will be £499 for an i10, £599 for
an i20 or £749 for an i30. Customers will be able to trade up and down
the range if they want to switch to a different car or add options. | | | | | Toyota has launched its new Auris 2010, with a
sharper appearance inside and out, higher quality materials throughout
the cabin and a suspension system tweaked for extra ride comfort and
stability.
As well as packing much more visual appeal,
the range of three and five-door hatchbacks from £14,463 delivers a
class leading combination of performance, fuel economy and low CO2
emissions from its line-up of Toyota Optimal Drive powertrains. | The new Auris 2010 moves to a new three-grade line-up,
with a new sporty SR grade joining the established T2 and TR models.
The TR will remain at the heart of the range and is expected to account
for around 80 per cent of the UK sales mix. Key changes include the
provision of a USB port and Aux-in socket to connect portable music
players to the car’s audio system, and a leather-trimmed flat bottom
steering wheel on all models. Heated door mirrors are introduced on T2
grade, with an additional retracting function on TR and SR versions. The
new Auris SR, powered exclusively by the 1.6-litre Valvematic petrol
engine with six-speed manual transmission, incorporates sporty styling
inside and out, with new-design five-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels,
dark-tinted rear privacy glass, roof spoiler with integrated stop lamp,
darkened headlamp glasses, Tatami sport seat trim and amber-lit
analogue dashboard instrumentation. Despite all this additional
specification, the SR model costs only £500 more than the TR. The
range comprises a 1.33-litre Dual VVT-i petrol engine, with manual
transmission, with Toyota Stop & Start technology; 1.6 Valvematic
petrol with manual or MultiMode transmission and 1.4 D-4D diesel,
again with manual gearbox or Multimode. | | | | The new Ford Ka celebrates its first birthday with a revised model line-up, including new variants. The
updated Ford Ka line-up continues with the existing engines - 1.2-litre
petrol (69PS) and 1.3-litre diesel (75PS) - and realigned models:
Studio, Edge, Zetec and the all-new Titanium. The Ford Ka Studio
adds rear head restraints to the standard specification. The Ka Edge
replaces Style and includes air conditioning as standard. The Ka Zetec
gains a flexible accessory holder and leather steering wheel as
standard. | | The top-of-the range Ka Titanium includes the following
features over Zetec: 16in alloys, advanced music pack, chrome handles,
tailgate handle and tailpipe and Electronic Automatic Temperature
Control (EATC). The advanced music pack includes uprated speakers,
amplifier and 100w subwoofer. Four new Individual variants replace the previous option packs, based on the Zetec specification. The
Ka Grand Prix includes 16in seven-spoke alloys, rear spoiler, chrome
exhaust pipe and a bespoke Grand Prix interior/exterior. The Ka Digital
also includes 16in seven-spoke alloys and a chrome exhaust pipe with a
unique Digital interior/exterior. The Ka Tattoo includes the same
Digital features with added door and tailgate handles, scuff plates and
Tattoo interior (cloth) and exterior. The Ka Tattoo Premium combines
the standard Tattoo features with a leather interior. | | | | | With CO2 emissions of just 109g/km and combined
fuel consumption of 67.3mpg, the new Astra ecoFLEX brings even greater
efficiency to Vauxhall's recently launched compact hatch range, which
has already seen a 13.3 per cent average improvement over the previous
model. A raft of mechanical and aero improvements have
resulted in the latest Astra ecoFLEX achieving a 12.1 per cent
improvement in emissions over the 1.7 CDTi model, currently the new
range's most efficient model. Better still, the ecoFLEX's added tax
benefits - VED down to £35.00, and BIK down to 13 per cent - take
effect from the new tax year in April, when the car will hit UK
showrooms with a starting price of £17,920. | The Astra ecoFLEX will be the first in range to get the
ultra-economical 1.3 CDTi 95PS diesel engine, which has recently been
seen in the revised and improved Corsa. Mated to a five-speed
transmission with new ratios to optimise economy, the engine features a
Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) and re-programmed engine control
settings. |
