The international fall-out from Toyota’s multi-model recall throughout Europe has hit manufacturing partner PSA/ Peugeot Citroen.

The French maker says it will recall up to 100,000 C1 and Peugeot 107 models made over a four year period from early 2005 and which have been fitted with the same suspect throttle which might stick open in some situations.
It assembles the two French models along the same lines which build the Toyota Aygo in Kolin, Czech Republic.
Analysts say the recall by Toyota is so extensive it will hit their sales by 75pc and dealers will need financial help to keep going. There is also the likelihood of some additional falling off in Lexus sales, although no models in its line up have been recalled along with its sister company Toyota’s action.
Honda will recall about 646,000 small cars in North America, Europe, Asia and other regions to fix a defect in power window switches that can cause fire, after a total of three cases of fire were reported in the United States and South Africa.
Subject to the recall for free repairs are the Jazz in some parts of the world, and the City small sedan, the Japanese carmaker said. These cars were manufactured between 2001 and 2008 in China, Brazil or at Honda’s Suzuka plant in Mie Prefecture.
