Mazda celebrates two decades of global roadster
success with the world premiere of a 20th Anniversary Limited Edition
Mazda MX-5 at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
This model, which will have a limited production run of just 2,000
units, will only be available in Europe and will take sportscar fans
back to the basics of open-top driving fun. Each model is equipped with
a special edition scuff plate in stainless steel with its unique serial
number from 1 to 2000. | | | Based on the 1.8-litre SE soft-top roadster, this version has a special
exterior styling package with chrome grille, door handles and headlight
fascia; along with silver-look fog lamp surrounds, unique 17-inch alloy
wheels and 20th Anniversary logos.
It can be ordered in three exterior colours - True Red, Crystal White
Pearl and, specific for this edition, a new Aurora Blue - with matching
body-colour painted decorative elements in the interior. A front
suspension bracing bar is also added to ensure an even more sporty and
exhilarating drive.
Joining the special edition Mazda MX-5 at Geneva will be the all-new
Mazda5 also making its world premiere. This new people carrier is
especially family-friendly and will offer Europeans: an eye-catching
design that sets it apart in the C-MAV segment; a new 2.0-litre DISI
petrol engine equipped with i-stop that achieves approximately 15
percent reduction in CO2 emissions and enhanced Karakuri interior
flexibility for up to seven people and sliding rear doors. | | | | | | | Buyers of Chevrolet’s top-of-the-range Cruze 2.0 VCDi
LT can take advantage of an automatic gearbox to further add to the
car’s upmarket appeal.
The six-speed transmission can operate in full auto mode, yet offers a
manual shift function, offering all of the performance and flexibility
of a manual gearbox when needed. | Powered by a 150PS 2.0-litre common rail diesel engine,
the new model accelerates from 0-62mph in an impressive 9.9 seconds, on
to a top speed of 124mph where conditions allow.
Features include full climate control, reverse parking sensors, cruise
control, front fog lamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, rain sensitive wipers,
automatic headlights, front and rear electric windows, follow-me-home
headlights, a six-CD autochanger and MP3 socket, and a Thatcham
category 1 alarm system with remote locking. The Cruze 2.0VCDi LT
automatic costs £17,145. | | | | | | | The Infiniti FX Line of performance crossovers
might already be one of the rarest and best equipped cars in its class
but this has not stopped customers demanding an even more exclusive
version.
Infiniti is responding with very special,
limited production versions of the FX37S and FX50S to be called,
simply, the FX Limited Edition. | Availability has been strictly limited to just 100 units
across Western Europe, of which only 18 will be coming to the UK. All
will be individually numbered. Based on the already dramatic
looking FX37S and FX50S, the FX Limited Edition features striking Black
Obsidian ‘Scratch Guard’ paintwork as standard, with equally
distinctive Moonlight White pearl metallic available as an option. Specially
commissioned 21 inch ‘Turbine’ design alloy wheels are finished in dark
Graphite. The radiator grille, side air vents and roof rails are
similarly coordinated. The interior of the FX Limited Edition is
beautifully crafted with many unique enhancements. Opening one of the
doors reveals illuminated ‘Infiniti’ entry guards and a carefully
co-ordinated combination of the finest materials, including supple
Graphite leather upholstered seats, upper door panels and dashboard
with contrasting stitching, and a luxurious Alcantara® headlining. Genuine
Carbon fibre is used extensively on the dashboard, centre console and
door panels, replacing the standard ‘cello flame maple wood veneer.
Completing the FX Limited Edition’s comprehensive standard
specification, Infiniti’s state-of-the-art Connectiviti+ technology
package provides a fully integrated navigation, communication and
entertainment system including an 11-speaker Bose® Premium Sound
System, the Michelin Guide, full iPod connectivity and a 10GB music box
with Gracenotes database. An option on the standard FX37S, this is
joined on both the V6 and V8 engined Limited Editions by Infiniti’s
unique Around View Monitor. The FX Limited Edition is available for
reservation now via an Infiniti Centre. Pricing starts at £55,855 for
the 320PS, V6 engined FX37S rising to £62,035 for the 390PS, V8 powered
FX50S. | | | | |
