Ford's latest marketing campaign offers savings of up to £5,000 on its 10 most popular models this Spring to boost sales in the critical plate-change month of March. Eight Ford Zetecs, from Ka to Galaxy, as well as Ka Studio and Kuga Titanium are now available with substantial savings off the Ford list price. Lower prices are for orders confirmed by 31 March and for registration by 30 June. BMW has teamed up with Streetcar, the UK’s largest car club, to give people the chance to drive away in a BMW for as little as £6.95. The innovative deal gives club members the opportunity to experience a BMW 1 Series or 3 Series as and when they wish. Both new BMWs will be available to rent by the hour, day, week or month, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Members can reserve a car online or over the phone, with bookings taking just 60 seconds to reach the car. Škoda UK welcomes the Government’s announcement extending the scrappage scheme. In addition to the government’s contribution of £1,000, Škoda is offering £1,500 on a new Yeti, Fabia, Roomster or Superb and £2,500 on Octavia and it has extended its “No-VAT” offer across all Octavia, Fabia and Roomster models, with a potential saving of up to £3,388 up to 31st March. Ford dealers diverted 23,000 damaged bumpers from landfill last year thanks to a recycling initiative. The bumpers are equivalent to 70 tonnes of landfill and were stripped from accident-damaged cars by Ford dealers last year to be recycled into new bumpers and other plastic components. Scrappage incentives accounted for just under 18pc of January’s registrations, says the SMMT. Since the scheme started last summer, 311,159 new car registrations went through, accounting for 20.4pc of the new car market. Alfa Romeo is bringing the classic Space Invaders arcade game to life in an interactive UK first.
