Work already under way on a major transport route through West Wales has been given a £19 million boost from EU Convergence funding, Deputy First Minister Ieuan Wyn Jones announced.
The new cash will help pay for improvement of a 2.5km section along the A40 from Penblewin to Slebech Park, including a bypass for the Pembrokeshire village of Robeston Wathen.


A new baby Land Rover will be launched in the autumn of 2011, the company has told US dealers.
It will slot in below the current Freelander and be based on the LRX concept hybrid shown last year.


Toyota Motor Corp. will create a system by which each subsidiary of the carmaker around the world is left to make decisions about recalls in its region.
The statement incorporates specific measures to shore up the automaker's quality control efforts. The current system--by which Toyota's Customer Quality Engineering Division in Japan makes recall decisions in any parts of the world--will be reformed.


Ford of Britain has announced the appointment of Steve Clary as its new commercial vehicles director, effective 1 March.
Steve Clary was the rental, remarketing and direct sales manager, Ford of Britain, from 2005 and went on to become district manager, for the north. Prior to his new appointment he was district manager for the West of Britain, where he was responsible for the car sales activities of the 158 dealers in the region.


SEAT is making its upper medium segment models that much more enticing.

The good news is you can still haggle an average of £1699 off the list price of a car, although that’s more than £200 less than the average discount a year ago. Renault is currently the most generous manufacturer with an average of £2009 (13pc) off its range, while Mini is the stingiest with typical savings of just £125 (1pc) off its cars. During the past year Ford has increased prices the most, with average increases of 14.7pc, and a staggering 32.6pc hike on a Fiesta 1.25 60 Studio 3dr.
