| An evening dedicated to the icons of Welsh motor industry and motor sport will take place in South Wales tomorrow. Icons of the Welsh motor industry looks at the great people of the business who have been instrumental in the development of the motor car and associated history. It will also include a look ahead with the Welsh scientists working on building a 1,000 mph car. Welsh motor historian, Peter Hughes, will be giving his views on the mechanical genius, Parry-Thomas and his quest to breaking the World Land Speed Record and which so tragically ended in his death on a Welsh beach. Ford Motor Company’s former chief technical officer, Richard Parry-Jones, will give an entertaining take on his view of the industry and where it is going. Tuesday’s event is at the Dylan Thomas Theatre, Swansea, from 7.30pm, tickets cost £8.50 with concessions at £6, on the door. | |
