The on-off launch of Renault's affordable Dacia brand in the UK is back on and slated for late 2012 with just one model, the highly-acclaimed new Duster. People buying Dacias don't haggle over price because the cars are affordable - new Duster will sell from €11,900 in two-wheel drive and €14,000 in four-wheel drive in Europe. In the UK, Dacia will be sold through Renault dealers with a ‘Dacia store' in the corner of a showroom or, where justified, a stand-alone showroom sharing the workshop and office functions with the Renault dealer.

Toyota's RAV4 gets a fresh new look for 2010. Unveiled at the Geneva motor show, the 2010 RAV4 has an all-new front-end treatment and inside the cabin the high quality finish is complemented by new leather and Alcantara upholstery. In the UK the 2010 RAV4 will have Toyota Optimal Drive powertrains, with 2.0-litre Valvematic petrol and 2.2 D-4D and D-CAT diesel engines, with six-speed manual, Mutridrive S continuously variable transmission and six-speed automatic transmissions. CO2 emissions start from 150 g/km.

	Vauxhall's new Meriva enters the UK market with aggressive pricing starting at £15,495 for the 100PS 1.4 S model. With a larger wheelbase offering added practicality for buyers, the Meriva has shifted out of the small-MPV and into the five-seat compact-MPV class, where it's set to raise the bar for innovation, thanks to standard features like FlexDoors and FlexSpace. Entry price for diesel models is £16,875 for the S trim 1.3 CDTi 75PS, and extend to £21,255 for the range-topping SE 1.7 CDTi 100PS automatic. From launch, all 1.7 CDTi versions will come with automatic gearboxes, with a six-speed manual becoming available soon after.

Fans of Nissan's thrilling 370Z can sleep easy in the knowledge that they can now take advantage of great value finance rates. All 370Z models have the same predicted residual values. While drop-tops traditionally depreciate harder than their coupe equivalents, the strength in depth of Nissan's Roadster means its residuals are just as strong as the Coupe's. That means a 71pc RV figure after 12 months/10,000 miles and a 46pc RV after 36 months/30,000 miles.
