This weekend brings the first major event of the year for classic motor sport fans in the shape of Race Retro.

A wide range of machinery will be on display in the show’s halls at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire with a matching variety of celebrities on hand to be interviewed on the event’s Octane Stage to be interviewed by bike racer turned commentator Steve Parrish.
Switching to two wheeled motorsport, 8 time world champion Phil Read will be there, along with Steve Plater, Trevor Nation and Peter Williams.

From the world of sports car racing Brian Lister will be launching a new book, “Lister-Jaguar”, which chronicles Britain’s most successful sports racing cars of the 1950’s while one of the sport’s larger than life characters, Barry Whizzo Williams will be recalling a race, and sometimes rallying, career that spans more than 50 years.
Rally drivers new and old will not only be talking about their sport but, on Saturday and Sunday, they will be putting their skills on display with runs through a demonstration special stage in the Park. Heading the list is the original, and for many rally fans only, Stig – 1984 World Rally Champion Stig Blomqvist, who is scheduled to drive a range of Audi Quattros.
He will be joined by double British Rally Champion Russell Brookes who will be driving two cars with which he is synonymous, the Opel Manta 400 and Ford Sierra Cosworth. Meanwhile reigning British Champion Keith Cronin will be behind the wheel of the fabulous looking and sounding Aston Martin V8 Rally GT.
Returning to the Retro theme, former works Triumph driver will be reunited with what became an unlikely rallying success story, the Triumph 2.5pi while other cars scheduled to put in an appearance include a Metro 6R4, Ford RS200 and Peugeot 205T16.

Adult ticket prices start from just £20 for Friday and £15 for Saturday and Sunday when booking in advance.

The show is open from 9.30am each day and closes at 5.30pm on Friday and Saturday and 4.30pm on Sunday.
