The next generation MB R-Class features a new exterior and interior.
The overall impression in particular has benefitted significantly from the completely redesigned front section, which borrows elements both from Mercedes-Benz saloons and SUV models.
In addition to the fresh exterior, the "twenty-eleven" model year R-Class also impresses with a number of distinctive interior features.
On show now in the New York motor show, UK sales start September.
New inside and out the MB R Class
These include the economy of space found in the latest MPVs, as well as the comfort, high-class appeal and prestige associated with classic Mercedes-Benz saloons.
At the same time, the latest generation offers the same level of interior diversity for which its predecessor was renowned, and also boasts the robustness and all-wheel-drive properties of Mercedes-Benz SUV's for the R 350 CDI L.
The R-Class will be celebrating its world premiere at the New York International Auto Show from today and UK deliveries begin in September
The UK model range consists of two variants: R 300 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY 2WD and the R 350 CDI L 4MATIC. With a fuel consumption figure of 37.2mpg, compared with its predecessor the R 300 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY model requires around 7 per cent less fuel while offering the same power output and enhanced performance.
The new R 350 CDI 4MATIC combines the high performance of a V8 model with the low fuel consumption of an economical V6 variant. It consumes 33.2mpg* of diesel, thereby undercutting its predecessor by 2.8mpg– yet is able to offer significantly enhanced performance.

More stylish but as practical as ever
While previously the maximum performance topped out at 165 kW (224 hp), the V6 diesel engine now boasts 195 kW (265 hp) as well as massive torque of 620 Newton metres. Making its debut in the R-Class, this powerful package enables the sportiest of all of the R-Class models with diesel engine to achieve effortlessly superior levels of performance. Acceleration from 0 to 62 mph takes 7.6 seconds, while the top speed is 146 mph.
Bentleys awesome new V8A 505bhp V8 6.75 litre engine has been fitted to the latest Bentley Mulsanne.
Fitted with lightweight components it also has an advanced vale control system which shuts off some of the cylinders when cruising to extend economy.
These modifications comprise over 300 new or significantly re-engineered components for the Mulsanne engine and the famed Bentley ‘wave of torque’ (1020Nm/752lb ft) is now delivered in full even earlier, at 1750rpm.

They come along with a new eight-speed automatic transmission and it allows the Mulsanne to reach 60mph from rest in 5.1 seconds.
Citroën has announced a new Airdream+ range, thanks to the introduction of two environmentally sensitive and economically rewarding Airdream+ versions of C3 Picasso and C4 Hatchback.
These two new models make up the range alongside the existing 99g/km New C3 Airdream+, which was launched at the start of the year.
With combined cycle fuel economy of between 62.8mpg and 74.3mpg, and CO2 emissions from just 99g to 119g/km, the Airdream+ range delivers low running costs and free first year VED.
Showcasing Citroën’s smart, ‘green’ technologies, Airdream+ models feature fuel-efficient HDi engines, ‘optimised’ gearbox technology and a focus on environmentally considerate engineering. They also come with an array of complimentary equipment, on top of the VTR+ specification on which they are based.
The Airdream+ range is powered by Citroën’s lauded HDi diesel technology - with New C3 and C4 models featuring the Company’s renowned Diesel Particulate Filter System (DPFS). An ‘optimised’ manual gearbox with a Gear Efficiency Indicator is specified on the New C3 Airdream+, and a fuel-saving Auto EGS gearbox features on the C4 Airdream+. A part-by-part focus on reducing overall weight, the use of 85pc re-cyclable components and a number of ‘green’ materials during manufacture, also support the range’s ecological credentials.
Environmentally sensitive and economical to run, the Airdream+ range is also exceptionally well equipped, with all three Airdream+ models boasting additional equipment over and above the VTR+ specification - at no extra cost.
