| Research by communications company 3 confirmed the
tedious and tiresome nature of in car travel, which often leaves
travellers bored, restless and unproductive. Released in line with the availability of 3’s new In car Wi-Fi, a portable MiFi device with an in car charger, the research has shown that 80 per cent of British people get bored and restless during car travel. For colleagues on the road, time travelling is often time wasted, but 3’s In car Wi-Fi allows passengers to get online, download documents and even check the traffic conditions ahead. 71 per cent of respondents believe portable Wi-Fi access in a car would help with entertainment and work while on the go. When online, one in three British people (34 per cent) would use In car Wi-Fi for social media purposes and emailing friends, followed by one in five (21 per cent) for work purposes and one in six (18 per cent) to stream online videos (eg BBC iPlayer and YouTube) | ![]() |
| Charlotte Blanchard, Director of Products & Services
at 3 said, “We can all relate to the woes of long car trips and we’re
always looking at new products and services that connect our customers
while on the move. "In car Wi-Fi means no more tedious journeys, at least for the passengers, who can listen to internet radio, watch videos or play games to while away the time. Useful services, such as checking live traffic info and cameras, will also be valuable to the one in the driving seat.” | |
