The Audi A1 becomes available to order.
Priced at between £13,145 and £18,280, the ten-model range features SE, Sport and S line options and
will include alloy wheels, remote central locking, air conditioning,
electric front windows and mirrors and a six-speaker single CD audio
system with auxiliary iPod connection linked to a 6.5-inch retractable
display.
| | Sport models include larger wheels, sports suspension,
sports seats, Bluetooth mobile phone preparation and a Driver’s
Information System, while S line versions upgrade with extras such as an
exclusive S line exterior treatment including larger 17-inch alloy
wheels, S line sports suspension and leather and cloth combination
upholstery. In the initial launch phase the generous specification is
combined with three ultra-efficient TDI and TFSI engines, all of which
compensate very effectively for their relatively small displacements
with the latest turbo charger technology, and benefit from engine
start-stop and recuperation systems.
The new 1.2 TFSI petrol engine linked exclusively to a five-speed manual
transmission kicks off the range, its 86PS and 160Nm peak power and
torque outputs enabling a 0-62mph time of 11.7 seconds and a 112mph top
speed, delivered with 55.4mpg capability and low CO2 of 118g/km.
The more familiar 1.4 TFSI power unit is next in line, and delivers its
122PS and 200Nm via the standard six-speed manual gearbox or the
optional seven-speed S tronic twin-clutch transmission for an extra
£1,420. Equipped with S tronic it takes the A1 to 62mph in 8.9 seconds,
and on to 126mph where conditions allow, and in this form comes
impressively close to matching its smaller counterpart on economy and
emissions, delivering up to 54.3mpg with CO2 output of 119g/km.
The 105PS 1.6-litre diesel is the third engine option, and via a
five-speed manual gearbox uses its impressive 250Nm torque output to
power the A1 to 62mph in 10.5 seconds and on to a 118mph top speed,
while retaining the potential to achieve 70.6mpg economy with emissions
of 105g/km. | | | | | The Infiniti FX is now available with a sporting new
diesel engine under the bonnet.
This isn’t the only first for Infiniti in Europe because with the new
engine comes the availability of new safety technology: Forward
Collision Warning and Lane Departure Prevention.
Playing to the FX’s strengths, the state-of-the-art 3.0-litre V6
enhances the FX’s already torque-rich performance while significantly
lowering CO2 emissions and fuel consumption for real customer benefit. | To be called the FX30d, the four variant range joins the
FX petrol V6
and V8 models in a new look line-up for 2010 – and at prices that are
virtually identical to equivalent V6 petrol models. FX30d costs from £45,150, just £200 more than the
equivalent FX37 petrol model. Available in both luxury GT and more
sporting S guises, the arrival of the diesel also marks the addition of
new Premium specification grades with every possible feature included as
standard – including the sophisticated new safety technology to help
guard against collisions, available for the first time on any Infiniti
in Europe.
The FX’s advanced construction, aerodynamic prowess and highly efficient
intelligent all-wheel drive system provide the perfect accompaniment
for the bespoke new V6 diesel engine. Fuel consumption on the combined
cycle is trimmed to 31.4 mpg (9.0l/100km) while CO2 emissions drop to
238 g/km. The diesel FX, however, remains a performance car at
heart – as the new engine’s impressive 550 Nm (406 lb ft) of pulling
power, available at just 1750rpm, demonstrates. Paired with the standard
7-speed Adaptive Shift Control automatic transmission, the
piezo-injection engine powers the greener FX from 0-62 mph in just 8.3
seconds.
There are nine models in the series, GT, GT Premium, S and S Premium
with the top models costing £56,400, with the new diesels occupying four
slots. | | | | To meet strong demand for the popular Mazda6 from both
retail and fleet customers, Mazda UK brought forwards the ‘on sale' date
for the upgraded Mazda6 models for 2010.
Now in Mazda dealer showrooms, the new 19-strong range features
refreshed exterior and interior styling, additional equipment and a
range of significant technical enhancements that improve fuel economy by
up to 6.4 percent and reduced CO2 emissions by up to 6.1 percent. | | Customers are offered a choice of two body styles**
(hatchback and estate), six engines (three petrol and three diesel) and
four equipment levels - S, TS, TS2, and Sport.
Improved fuel economy, lower Road Fund Licence bands and reduced Benefit
In Kind costs offer buyers significant savings, while prices for the
upgraded Mazda6 now range from £16,995 to £23,445 on-the-road, increased
by an average of just 4.8 percent. |
