Disabled motorists whose vehicles are damaged
invariably experience more difficulty than most in getting their
transport repaired quickly, efficiently and effectively.
Commenting on this situation recently, Malcolm Tagg, the Director
General of the VBRA, the UK's leading trade association for Vehicle Body
Building, CV, Car Body and SMART repair, stated, "When circumstances
like this arise we can only recommend that drivers endeavour whenever
possible to use a VBRA member garage and avail themselves of the
advantages they offer. "These frequently include a collect and deliver
service, something which we know disabled drivers find extremely helpful
and which is available over a very wide geographical area and certainly
as speedy a repair as possible to reduce downtime in a motorists
specially adapted vehicle" | | Commenting on other areas where the VBRA and its members
are routinely able to assist disabled motorists Tagg added,"The VBRA
leads in educating members in modern vehicle construction and repair
technologies, some specifically oriented towards specialist vehicles
including wheelchair accessible conversions for example. | | In connection with this we facilitate and encourage
numerous training courses covering all aspects of vehicle repair and
provide a comprehensive range of advisory services to members to best
help them serve their customers. | VBRA members can be found from your local yellow pages,
or via www.vbra.co.uk or Disabled
Motorists Federation or through the OFT's code approval web area.
| | "This enables them to undertake their work in the most
professional and timely manner possible and has received much favourable
comment. We also audit all members on a regular basis to ensure that
the standards demanded are being met or exceeded, enabling them to use
the OFT designation for body repairs under VBRA Code of Practice which
is the only code for body repair recognised under the OFT Consumer Code
Approval scheme." |
