 | | The Brecon motor club organized S & G Printing
backed Harry Flatters Rally took place on the Eppynt military ranges
last Sunday with a healthy entry of approximately 100 competing cars, writes Gary Jones. | | The event was won by Damien Cole and Craig Drew in a Focus WRC (top) while the
historic event was won by Mark Solloway and Den Golding in the Historic
Rallysport Escort Mk2 (above) which former world champion Bjorn Waldegard used
on the Midnight Sun rally out in Sweden just three weeks previously, the
Swedish event also saw one of Solloway’s Cwmffrwd based Historic
Rallysport cars also win the event outright when Kenneth Backland took
victory in another Escort Mk2.

who finished 19th overall on the ultra fast forest event. Roberts was co-driving for Craig Breen in a S2000 Fiesta against the
world's best on Rd 8 of the WRC being Rally Finland formerly known as
the 1000 Lakes Rally which had its base in Juvaskala and took in 19
timed forest stages with their fearsome crests and monster jumps and to
finish inside the top twenty was a big achievement for the youngsters. Roberts and Breen will now concentrate on their next event
back out in Sweden where they take part in the Northern European Pirelli
Shootout shortly. | © Images Gary Jones
