 | With 448 drivers signed on to race the 2010 Men’s
Nationals Autograss again proved to be a massive success up at the
Hereford track over the weekend. | | | Class 4 saw a win for PAC 3 Rob Corbett while TA32 Alun
Jenkins (right) netted a 3rd, CM 7 Huw Jones finished 5th and TA12 Dorian
Lletyshon finished 6th with a death defying stunt on the final corner,
tipping the Mini Pickup van up onto two wheels (above) before getting back down
without rolling.
Class 10 saw PHD 2 Phil Rogers make the final only to spin out of
contention with damage to the rear wheel on the car mid way through the
race while challenging for the lead.
The champion of champion’s race was again won by PAC 3 Rob Corbett making it a good weekend’s racing for the Cenarth driver. | | Local drivers from the Carmarthenshire area who made the
finals on the Sunday included PAC 157 Tom Roberts who took third took
3rd in class 1. Class 9 saw TA3 Kevin Jones finish 8th after a win in the final heat that got him to the finals. Class
2 saw S2 Tony Hart Jones net a 2nd overall in a re run but bad luck
halted both S10 Michael Hart Jones and PAC 48 Dalton Thomas when they
spun and forced the first race to be stopped.
| This weekend will again bring top class action to Pendine
when the South Wales League set out to find the fastest driver on Welsh
grass.
The meeting will be a two day event at the regular Castle Lloyd farm track with around £3000 prize money on offer.
Start time is 10.30am both days and with a good response from the
Nationals and lots of top class drivers promising to come it all looks
like gearing up nicely for the weekend at Pendine. |
