Ford's slick-shifting and efficient PowerShift transmission is now available on six different Ford models.
The Ford PowerShift transmission uses the latest electronically controlled twin-clutch technology to challenge the performance and fuel economy of a manual gearbox with the comfort and convenience of a conventional automatic transmission.
Originally launched in the Ford Focus and C-MAX, the six-speed PowerShift transmission is now also available on the Ford Kuga, Mondeo, S-MAX and Galaxy.

Drivers are being urged to wise up to the dangers of tired driving as research by Brake and Direct Line shows the majority admit driving while tired, and drivers don't know the difference between fact and fiction on tackling sleepiness at the wheel.
Brake and Direct Line's survey found that nearly three-quarters of drivers (74PC) admit driving tired in the past 12 months - with almost one in ten (9PC) saying they did so at least once a week. This is a huge increase from six years ago, when 46PC of drivers owned up to getting behind the wheel while tired.

Ford it will begin producing an unidentified new small car at its plant in Romania next year at an annual rate of 150,000 units.
Ford acquired the former Automobile Craiova plant from the Romanian government two years ago and began building the Transit Connect small van there in 2009. The company says the Craiova plant will achieve annual capacity to build 300,000 vehicles and 300,000 1.0 EcoBoost engines by 2013, two years later than originally planned.
