Lookers and Alfa support Welsh arts

Cardiff dealership Lookers and Alfa Romeo have joined with Wales Millennium Centre and become official partners to the Welsh centre for the arts.

Alfa Romeo will provide vehicles and funding to support WMC and its encouragement of learning and providing a showcase to nurture creative talent. Since opening in 2004, WMC has received nearly eight million visitors and is home to BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Welsh National Opera and Wales’ largest youth organisation, Urdd Gobaith Cymru.
Damien Dally, brand communications manager for Alfa Romeo UK said, “Passion, performance and price are key attributes of the brand that are perfectly complemented by our sponsorship of WMC and we’re furthering our commitment to invest in the arts and develop talent.”
Lookers Alfa Romeo Cardiff sales manager David Cornish added, “It is an exciting time for our dealership and Alfa Romeo and we have developed a good relationship with the Wales Millennium Centre and as such I think we have a tremendous future ahead of us.”
Welcoming the partnership deal, Marie Wood, director of development at WMC, said, “In these economically challenging times, to find a company with such a commitment to the arts helping us nurture the talent of the future is quite exceptional and their support will make a real difference to our programme of learning and participation.”
An Alfa Giulietta in special livery designed by the WMC to reflect the famous car brand’s cloverleaf logo will initially be displayed in the foyer and further models will be introduced over future months.
