The new C-Class will be launched in spring 2011 and is a comprehensive modernisation.

The front and rear sections of this best selling model have a more striking design. There is now a high-resolution colour display screen in the instrument cluster, an elegant new dashboard with grained surface and prominent decorative trim emphasising the premium character of the interior. Fuel consumption has been improved by up to 31 per cent.

Efficiency-enhancing measures including new engines, the improved 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission and the ECO start/stop function also feature. Ten new driving assistance systems ranging from the standard ATTENTION ASSIST drowsiness detection system to the optional DISTRONIC PLUS proximity control system are also now available for this model series for the first time.
"In terms of drive and protection systems the new-generation C-Class offers the same comfort and safety as our luxury models.  High-grade interior features  remind one of the new CLS, the C-Class sets completely new standards in its segment with respect to perceived value and quality," says Dr. Joachim Schmidt, Sales & Marketing Director at Mercedes-Benz Cars. This interior modernisation is supplemented with a new telematics generation that not only includes completely redesigned displays, but also makes onboard internet access available.
A total of more than 2,000 new components distinguish the latest generation of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class from its predecessor. The UK market launch of the Saloon and Estate versions will take place in March 2011.

The significantly upgraded Mazda2 range has gone on sale and now includes an automatic model.

Mazda expects the new Mazda2 Automatic to prove so popular, particularly with Motability drivers and driving schools, that it will quickly become one of the best-selling variants of its acclaimed supermini range.
The Mazda2 has always been in demand from those who lease a car through the Motability Scheme, and the arrival of the Mazda2 Automatic will increase this trend.
Automatic will boost Mazda appeal and sales

To build on the anticipated sales impetus, the Mazda2 Automatic will feature in Mazda's special driving school programme, alongside the lower-medium sector Mazda3.
The programme is aimed specifically at the 17,000 qualified driving instructors who are self-employed or work for small driving schools across the UK.  Anecdotal evidence suggests that many newly qualified drivers go on to purchase either new or second-hand a car similar to the one in which they received driving lessons.
The new five-door automatic Mazda2 is badged ‘TS2 Automatic' and sees a four-speed automatic transmission mated to the 1.5-litre engine, which returns 44.8mpg with CO2 emissions of 146g/km and it costs £12,370.
