 | Lexus is introducing a new version of its IS sports
saloon that comes laden with extra features.
In addition to the
regular SE specification, the new IS 250 and 200d Advance models come with a hard disc drive satellite navigation system, rear parking camera,
heated electrically adjustable front seats, front and rear parking sensors,
cruise control, rain-sensing wipers and an auto-dimming rear view
mirror. | | It's the kind of
options tick-list that should add up to a hefty price premium, yet the new
Advance IS 250 costs just an extra £340 compared its SE equivalent (£26,495 on-the-road),
with the IS 200d coming in at an additional £130 (£24,995). | | | | | For a
limited time only, Renault has made its popular Twingo, Clio, Mégane and Scénic
models even more irresistible thanks to its new Bizu line-up and all with a
very attractive price tag.
At just £6,595, motorists could drive away in a
brand new Twingo Bizu fitted with Bluetooth connectivity as standard. That
means you can enjoy all your MP3 music or make phone calls whilst keeping your
hands free at all times - helping you to grab another moment! | All the Bizu
range also boasts electric front windows and ABS with EBD (Electronic Brake
Distribution) ensuring there is no compromise on your comfort or safety. Prices for the rest of the range are just as
alluring with the Clio Bizu priced at £8,595, the Mégane Bizu at £11,595 and the
Scénic Bizu at only £12,595. | | | | Turbocharging and
supercharging share top billing in the new Audi A1 1.4 TFSI S line 185PS, which
is available to order in the UK from this week priced from £20,705.
The new
top-performing A1 derives its impressive performance from a potent combination
of the two forced induction methods working sequentially. It manages to
maintain frugal 47.9mpg economy potential giving a low CO2 output
of just 139g/km.
| |
The compact and
lightweight four-valve-per-cylinder ‘dual-charged' engine first used by sister
company Volkswagen powers the A1 1.4 TFSI 185PS from rest to 62mph in just 6.9
seconds, and on to a 141mph top speed. Under power, the supercharger is the
first to exert its influence, intervening at around 1,500rpm to increase
thrust. In most cases it then disengages at around 2,400rpm, to be followed
from around 3,500rpm by a boost from the turbocharger to hasten progress yet
again.
The S tronic
seven-speed twin-clutch transmission directs power to the front wheels as
standard, and with its ability to perform gear shifts in just a few hundredths
of a second perfectly suits the newcomer's temperament. Its tall seventh gear
also reduces fuel consumption.
The performance-oriented
S line suspension forms part of the overall S line specification that is
standard for the 1.4 TFSI 185PS, and includes features such as an exclusive S
line exterior treatment, 17-inch alloy wheels and part leather-upholstered
sports seats. This is in addition to the Sport equipment level which already
includes remote central locking, air conditioning, electric front windows and
mirrors, Bluetooth mobile phone preparation, Driver's Information System and a
six-speaker single CD audio system with auxiliary iPod connection linked to a
6.5-inch retractable display. |
