Diesel-electric hybrid and distinctive ‘high-end' appeal combine to
offer an original view of the world of all-wheel drive vehicles with enhanced
driving pleasure: introducing the new Peugeot 508 RXH.
RXH demonstrates the modern,
enhanced ‘top-of-the-range' vision for Peugeot, and has its world premiere at
September's Frankfurt Motor Show. | | After the successful launch of
the 508 Saloon and SW in spring 2011, where they were highly acclaimed for
their styling elegance, on-the-road presence, high levels of build quality and
attention to detail, the 508 RXH (above) further elevates the profile of the entire
Peugeot brand reinforcing its technological and environmental leadership.
Equipped
with the 2.0 l HDi FAP HYbrid4 powertrain, a world first when featured in the
3008 HYbrid4, the diesel-electric hybrid in the 508 RXH extends driving freedom
and pleasure to traverse all roads.
With
a maximum power of 147 kW (200 bhp), four-wheel drive and a maximum torque of
450 Nm, the 508 RXH has been designed to adapt to all uses, in a wide spectrum
of conditions. Furthermore, it opens up new perspectives in the segment,
offering a 100% electric mode, for driving in town and capable of
delivering, in the Combined Drive Cycle, 67.2 mpg with CO2 emissions
of 109 g/km. It
will go on sale from next Spring. | | | Fiat will be unveiling its new Panda at the
forthcoming Frankfurt Motor Show.
The new arrival, which will go on sale in UK next
spring, is a consistent evolution of a highly successful city car that has
always been a by-word for functional design, manoeuvrability, space,
reliability and comfort. Now in its third generation, new Panda has taken
another major step forward. | | While still remaining true to its compact design
brief, new Panda has ‘grown' by just a few centimetres to ensure the attainment
of the highest safety standards, and improve the generous level of passenger
and luggage space still further. With an overall length of 365cm, width of
164cm and height of 155cm, new Panda can comfortably accommodate up to five
people and is equipped with one of the largest luggage compartments in its
segment.
Panda was the first car in its market segment
(A), to win the prestigious Car of the Year award (in 2004). It was the first
compact (less than four metres in length) to feature a diesel engine (1986),
and it was the first to offer both four-wheel drive (1983) and a range of
eco-friendly engines designed to limit fuel consumption. (Panda Elettra,
introduced in 1990, was one of the first electric cars).
The new engine range emphasises new Panda's
cutting edge technology. Customers will be able to choose from two TwinAir
twin cylinder engines: the International Engine of the Year 2011 85bhp TwinAir
Turbo, or the brand new 65bhp naturally aspirated TwinAir, both equipped with
Start and Stop as standard.
The recently revised four cylinder 69bhp
1.2 litre Fire engine completes the petrol engine range at launch, but a
state-of-the-art turbodiesel 75bhp 1.3 litre MultiJet 2 engine, also with
Start and Stop as standard, will also be offered. In harmony with its
eco-friendly spirit, new Panda also offers a Gearshift Indicator, which
helps drivers use the engine more efficiently, and thus reduce fuel
consumption.
At launch, the new Panda will be front-wheel
drive only, but a four-wheel drive version is planned. | | | The new Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 makes its European debut at the Frankfurt show.
Combining legendary Jeep capability and utility
with head-turning ‘Street and Racing Technology' performance, the SRT8 is
powered by an all-new 6.4-litre HEMI® V-8 engine, producing 470 bhp and 630 Nm
of torque, making the flagship model the most powerful Jeep vehicle ever produced. | | Available in Jeep UK dealerships from the first
quarter of 2012, the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 features advanced new active
damping suspension which is managed by the new Selec-Track system to optimise
road handling, in addition to a new system which allows Fuel Saver Technology
to ensure a 13-percent improvement in motorway fuel efficiency and a 450 mile
range. Meanwhile, the lowered profile, race-inspired interior and exclusive SRT
steering wheel with mounted paddle shifters give a performance-orientated feel
to the Jeep flagship model.
Designed and built using the proven Street Racing Technology formula that
raises performance to dramatic levels, the new Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8
accelerates from 0-62 mph in 4.8 seconds, 0-100-0 mph in the mid-16 second
range, and has a top speed of over 155 mph.
Powering the new Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 is Chrysler Group's all-new 6.4-litre
HEMI V-8 with Fuel Saver Technology that delivers 470 bhp and 630 Nm of torque
- an improvement of 50 horsepower and 61 Nm torque over the 6.1-litre HEMI V-8
it replaces.
