The
latest Ford Fiesta range includes a new special edition 134PS hot hatch in the
Metal model now on sale.
Priced
from £15,695 on the road, and limited to just 1000 examples, the Ford Fiesta
Metal boasts 134PS at 6,700rpm and 160Nm of torque at 4,250rpm from its
1.6-litre, Duratec Ti-VCT petrol engine, and can reach 62mph in just 8.7
seconds.
Anthony
Ireson, Ford of Britain's marketing director, said, "This Ford Fiesta
special edition gives the customer great exterior styling with an enhanced
performance engine. Customers love that we create Fiestas with special features
that prove to be real head-turners."
Based
on the popular three-door 120PS Ford Fiesta Zetec-S, the Fiesta Metal boasts:
chrome twin exhaust pipes, silver-painted front grille surround, front aerofoil
and front fog light bezels, Piano Black painted centre stack bezel, air vent
rings and door pulls, Ebony Black leather sports seats with silver contrast
stitching, unique floor mats with silver piping, stainless steel door scuff
plates with Fiesta logo, 17" Black alloy wheels and sports tuning with
lowered ride height. | |
The availability of Ford's low emission ECOnetic
engine has been expanded to now include the mid-range Zetec and
top-of-the-range Titanium models. The extra-frugal ECOnetic Fiestas now only
emit 95g/km CO2, down by 3g/km.
The addition of Zetec and Titanium models to the
current Edge ECOnetic means a three-model "green" line up for
customers to choose from. All three ECOnetics have the Dagenham-built,
specially calibrated version of the 1.6 litre, 95PS Duratorq TDCi engine with
Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) which gives a combined 78.5 mpg. This amazing
fuel economy coupled with zero road tax (Vehicle Excise Duty) can now be
combined with more in-car features for a great driving experience.
Anthony Ireson, Ford of Britain marketing
director, said: "Many drivers want to drive a car with lower
emissions but still want comfort, performance and an affordable price.
Expanding ECOnetic across the series answers that demand, with style."
The ECOnetic models in the Fiesta range start
with Edge ECOnetic, priced from £13,895, which includes Electronic Stability
Programme (ESP), air-conditioning, lowered suspension, aerodynamic improvements
and low rolling resistance tyres.
The Zetec ECOnetic, priced from £14,445, has
14" 6-spoke alloy wheels, front fog lights, rear wheel air deflectors,
chrome surrounds on headlights, lower front grille, tailgate handle and belt
line finisher, three-spoke leather steering wheel and ambient lighting.
The Titanium ECOnetic, priced from £15,645, adds
Sony DAB Radio, Bluetooth voice control and USB connectivity, cruise control,
front upper grille chrome strip, power-operated folding door mirrors, privacy
glass, electronic automatic temperature control (EATC). automatic headlamps,
automatic wipers, two rear speakers and a perimeter alarm.
Aerodynamic body styling, lowered suspension, low
resistance tyres and low friction oil all help the Ford Fiesta ECOnetic achieve
ultra low CO2 emissions. Additionally a green shift indicator
in the instrument cluster highlights the optimal point to change gear to
maximise fuel economy. | | |
