The new Jaguar XKR-S convertible will smash the £100,000 barrier when it goes on UK sale in the New Year.

Starting at £103,000, the XKR-S Convertible embodies all the characteristics that have always defined legendary Jaguar GTs - explosive performance, involving handling, relaxed comfort and discreet luxury - while taking Jaguar into a new performance echelon.
Coming for spring 2012
The new XKR-S model line-up consists of XK, XKR and XKR-S derivatives in coupe and convertible format.
The XKR-S Convertible uses the latest Welsh-built and more powerful 550ps V8 engine and  takes the raft of performance, dynamics, design and interior upgrades already introduced to much acclaim on its coupe sibling to create Jaguar's fastest ever open-topped GT.
Adrian Hallmark, Jaguar Global Brand Director, says the new XKR-S Convertible represents the pinnacle of performance and glamour in motoring:
"There is nothing as liberating as life behind the wheel of an open-topped Jaguar and the new XKR-S Convertible takes the Jaguar GT experience to new heights."
The building block for the car's explosive performance is an uprated version of the 5.0-litre supercharged AJ-V8 engine, which produces 550PS (405kW) and 502lb/ft (680Nm) of torque. These figures represent a power increase of 8 percent and torque increase of 9 percent over the Jaguar XKR. Driving the rear wheels through a six-speed automatic gearbox with Active Differential, this propels the XKR-S Convertible to 60mph in 4.2 seconds (0-100km/h in 4.4 seconds) and on to an electronically limited top speed of 186mph (300km/h).

Citreon's DS5 Hybrid4 models will not incur the 3% benefit-in-kind uplift that applies to conventional diesel powered cars.

Originally reported in an article published by BusinessCar, a HMRC spokesman has confirmed: "The 3% supplement cannot apply to a diesel hybrid because s141(3) of ITEPA 2003 (the regulatory document) defines ‘diesel car' as being ‘propelled solely by diesel'."

Andy Wady, Citroën UK's Fleet Director, said: "This is fantastic news as we gear up for the launch of DS5 early next year.  It's also great news for many company car drivers already attracted to DS5 and the Hybrid4 powertrain with its impressive fuel economy, low CO2 emissions, free VED, no London Congestion Charge...and now a BIK taxation rate at just 10%."
Wady continued: "Hybrid4 represents a significant environmental advance that helps us build on our commitment to drive down CO2 emissions.  Already, a full 50% of Citroën cars sold this year emit under 130g/km of CO2 and there has been a five-gram decrease in average CO2 emissions for the European range as a whole."
DS5 is the first Citroën model to feature Hybrid4 diesel hybrid technology, providing enhanced performance and class leading environmental credentials.  The advanced Hybrid4 system delivers 200bhp; four-wheel drive capability; emission-free electric power for the city; and an acceleration boost function for the open road - with total CO2 emissions of just 99g/km.
