Llandow Kart Club concluded its 2011 season in the shape of the ever popular Celtic Championships.

A field of 70 competitors saw their skills put to the limit on a weekend apart from being bitterly cold produced a relentless torrent of rain.

The Bambino's kicked the running off with Alex Austin and Brooklyn Thomas. Austin came out on top as the pair relentlessly traded sector times.

Honda Cadet produced its usual ‘hustle and bustle' as Daniel Thomas claimed his maiden Celtic Championship. Hugo Holmes followed in close company while Ross Thomas completed the podium.

Tom Rawlings looked set to cause an upset in Comer Cadet but club champion Lewis Griffiths produced the goods when it mattered and took the final, demoting Rawlings to second while Jack Barber finished third.

Despite an early final spin Alex Thomas eventually prevailed in Junior Honda ahead of the reluctant novice duo of Ben Stevens and debutant Tom Ford.

Lewis Malin stormed to a Celtic championship win in Minimax after an opening lap retirement from Harry Williams. Edward Tansley and Rob Ellis completed the rostrum in second and third.

Reigning Welsh Champion Keaton Ford took the Junior TKM Celtic title ahead of the TKM debutant of Ryan Edwards who displayed a controlled drive to earn himself a second place finish. Matthew Ayers followed in close company to finish third.

Macaulay Austin added another title to his name in Junior Rotax following a dominant drive ahead of Peter Saxby. James Williams came home third. Pole man Steven Handford was unable to challenge after an early retirement.

Paul ‘Tooty' Saunders (above) produced the most popular win of the day after outclassing Welsh and Club champion Simon Evans, proving the veteran can still mix it with the youngsters. Danny Griffiths made up for a difficult day by finishing third.

Josh Collings proved unbeatable in Senior Rotax and stormed to a four second win over Chris Davis. Welsh Champ Craig Mooney took third after a last corner lunge at the expense of Senior Rotax new boy Josh Gray. Wayne Stone took the prize in Rotax 177 closely shadowed by Simon Wheeler.
