Plans for a £10
daily charge for lorries on UK roads will be e a fairer deal for UK hauliers
says Roads Minister Mike Penning.
Most EU states
charge lorries for using their roads which means that British vehicles have to
pay to drive in Europe, while foreign lorries can drive for free in the UK but from 2015 the Government says it will charge all lorries a daily rate, however the UK registered vehicles will get a corresponding reduction in their road tax duties so it should be almost neutral costed for them.
Europe's Safe Road Trains for the Environment has successfully completed the
first test demonstrations of a multiple vehicle platoon.
The test
fleet included a lead truck followed by three cars driven entirely autonomously
at speeds of up to 90 km/h - with no more than 6 metres gap between the
vehicles.
The Engineering
Education Scheme Wales is holding a presentation event for 70 teams of Year 12
students who have participated in the scheme this year. This event is one of the largest of its kind in Wales at takes place on 26 March at

Automakers
